Book Blurb

He consumed her with that kiss, leaving no question that whatever was happening between them was meant to be—that it had always been meant to be…

HE LOVES FOR ETERNITY

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Thorn is back in Edinburgh fighting the Dark Fae with Darius. They are staying hidden as they pick them off one by one. They don’t want the Dark to know what Kings are there and how many. Unfortunately the more they kill the more they seem to multiply. Thorn and Darius notice a young woman who appears to be following the Dark. They are afraid she will get herself killed. Thorn has to intervene. He is sworn to protect humans even when they are doing unsafe things.

Lexi saw the dead body of her friend, Christina, after she was murdered. She knows he has red eyes and can change his appearance. The police think she is crazy or she was drunk and seeing things. Lexi, however, is determined to find the man that killed her friend. She starts seeing “Red Eyes” around the city but none of them are the one she is looking for. Unfortunately they notice her following them and start playing a cat and mouse game with her.

Thorn and Darius step in and save her trying to warn her off in the process. Lexi refuses to give up. Thorn ends up saving her yet again and taking her to Darcy’s flat. Lexi needs to recover from the sickness she has. While shut in the flat, Thorn can’t stop thinking of her and needs the distance. Darius tells her the story of the Dark and Thorn. Lexi is shocked but accepts what she is told. Thorn wants to keep her safe so sending her home and wiping her memories seems the best way to do it.

When it fails Lexi is furious and placed in even more danger. Thorn has to face his feelings. He would do anything for her, even break into Ulrik’s manor to save her. The Dark have a plan with help from Ulrik and his uncle. They all want the same thing. The Dragon Kings split and chasing their tails as their secrets are shown to the world. All the work Con has done wiped away in a few moments. The Kings refuse to let this happen and band together with their allies to stop the Dark.

I love this series. This is the second book I’ve read of the Dragon Kings. I am planning to go back and read the ones I’ve missed. I love the characters and the world that the author has created. The hidden realm of Dreagan and the men who change into dragons are fun to read about. They are one of my favorite shape shifters. The magical beings that come to help in this book are part of a different series and I love the cross overs.

Thorn is afraid of losing another person he loves, so he doesn’t want a mate. He is afraid he will fail at keeping her safe. So he fights his feelings for Lexi. We all know that doesn’t work, not even for a dragon. Lexi came into his life like a whirlwind, stabbing him a couple of times, and refused to leave. I could just hear the pained sighs he released. It made me chuckle. You know he was a goner but it was fun to watch him try to fight it. Men are so funny at times, even if they are dragons.

Loved the storyline as it continues in the series. The Kings are an awesome group of characters. I also am waiting for the reveal of Rhi’s King. The author keeps you guessing. Great read. I give it a 4 out of 5.
