Review: Mystery Man (Dream Man #1) by Kristen Ashley

Book Blurb

Night time is the right time...

Gwendolyn Kidd has met the man of her dreams. He's hot, he's sexy, and what started as a no-names-exchanged night of passion has blossomed into a year and a half-long pleasure fest. Sure, it's a little strange that he only appears in her bed at night, but Gwen is so sure he's the one, she just can't turn him away...

Hawk Delgado knows more about Gwen than she could ever imagine. She's gorgeous, headstrong, and skittish about relationships. But Hawk is facing his own demons, demons that keep him from connecting with anyone. Yet when Gwen is drawn into Denver's lethal underground scene, Hawk's protective nature comes out full force. The problem is, when Gwen gets a dose of Hawk's Alpha attitude in the daylight, she's not so sure he's the one anymore....

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Gwen has a secret lover that visits her at night.  She calls him MM because she doesn’t know his name or anything about him.  However when her sister gets in trouble again and Gwen goes to the Chaos MC looking for answers from her sister’s ex, things get complicated.  She catches Tack’s eye and has a hissy fit in the middle of Ride.
When she gets home MM is waiting for her.  She is shocked to learn who MM is, Hawk Delgado, and he has been keeping tabs on her for a year and a half.  He knows everything about her, yet she knows nothing about him.  She learns really fast when her sister’s mess spills over into her life. Hawk is determined to keep her safe.  He also has to stake his claim because Tack and Detective Lawson are circling.
Gwen isn’t sure what she thinks of the real situation she has instead of the dream she had for the last year and a half.  She is afraid but ends up taking the leap of faith.  However things get even more dangerous and everything blows up in her face.
I love this author and have read many books in this series and the Chaos series.  I know both of these characters but had not read their story.  I can’t believe it took me so long to read.  I loved it.  Hawk was the typical alpha-male that was bossy.  Gwen was a strong female character that called him on it.  It was fun to read their banter.  It was also sad to read their loss and heartbreak.
I liked the possible couples that the author could have created in this book.  Gwen had options with Tack or Mitch but I truly like how Hawk and Gwen get together.  It was a battle and worth the read.

There was a lot of male posturing, which was funny, dangerous situations and bad guys.  I did feel for Gwen as things just kept getting worse.  There was nothing she could really do.  Loved her character as she kept her humor throughout it all.  I give this book a 4 out of 5.
