Review: My Redemption (The Elite Securities Series Book 1) by Jennifer Hanks

Book Blurb

Revenge can make even the best man fall…

After years of hatred boiling inside Pike Stevens, he finally had the chance to avenge his sister’s death, to bring down the man responsible for so much pain.

And he didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger.

Killing is nothing new to the ex-marine, except this time he wasn’t protecting his country, he wasn’t protecting his brothers, he was attempting to numb the pain slowly suffocating him. Quietly suffering in a life filled with loneliness and regret, he’s accepted his punishment for not protecting the only person he’s ever loved.

In his experiences, he’s learned to always expect the worst.

He never expected to meet a woman who would bring light into his life, who would show him forgiveness and the beauty in acceptance.

He never expected a chance at redemption.

He never expected Isabella Hampton.

This is the first book in a spin-off series of The Dimarco Series. Can be read as a standalone. Many characters from The Dimarco Series will appear in this story.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

I really liked this book.  The characters were real and weren’t perfect in their choices.  Life for them wasn’t easy.  Bella was strong, compassionate and determined.  I loved her.  She worked hard to take care of her mom and was afraid to let go when her mom needed her to.  I could see this happening to anyone.
Pike has had a tragic childhood and lost his sister.  His fear that he isn’t worth it is not surprising.  It showed his vulnerability.  They made a good match.
I also liked the members of the Elite Securities team.  There are a lot of alpha males in that club! Lol!  They are sigh worthy and definitely a pain in the butt.  I think it will be fun to read as they meet their matches.  I honestly can’t wait.

This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I’m now a fan.  I am officially hooked on the DiMarco family and friends.  I am going to read the ones I’ve missed.  This book sets the stage well for the spin of series. The reader gets and introduction to the guys and a peek at Bear and his MC.  There are already some hints thrown at you about others as you read the first book.  I can’t wait to see how things play out. I loved the book. There definitely some surprises. I give it a 5 out of 5.
