Review: Tempted (Dark Protectors) by Rebecca Zanetti

Book Blurb

On the run from a mental institution and her vindictive half-brother, it's safe to say that Sarah Pringle's happy life as a schoolteacher is on hold. Too bad that as far as self-defense goes, "run and hide" is the best she's got. And with the monsters that started her escape hot on her heels, that's not going to cut it for long...

That is, unless Sarah has a bigger, badder, hotter monster on her side. Max Petrovsky is right at the top of the list of alpha male ass-kickers. And he knows exactly what Sarah's up against. Good thing, because the minute he sees her something primal kicks in, turning everyday attraction into red-hot desire. As long as they're cooperating, why not mix some pleasure with business? Of course, Max should probably tell Sarah he's a vampire himself...

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Max is sent to pick up this woman who is enhanced and has a blog talking about the Kurjan and his world.  The Kurjan are also hunting her.  Her company has developed a serum that negates the bonding of a vampire and his mate.  So, Max is sent to find out more as Dage is trying to get control of the company.
Sarah is a hilarious character.  She has escaped from the mental hospital that her step-brother got her trapped in for the last three months.  She meets Max as she is climbing out the bathroom window of the motel. The interaction between the two is comical.  You can just hear Max’s heavy sighs and his instructions on how to punch.  I chuckled at both of them.  I liked them as a pair.  Sarah was pretty courageous in what she had to do in order to help Max and get herself out of trouble.

I also liked the chemistry they had together.  They were definitely drawn to each other and only each other.  I loved reading this book and wished it was longer.  I would have liked to explore their characters and relationship more.  I give it a 4 out of 5.
