Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

This is a book from the Brotherhood of the Blade series.  I wasn’t sure what to think of this book.  Rand is fighting vampires and then carried off by one.  She dumps him on a cruise ship.  I’m like…what?  As you read you are introduced to the vampire slayers that recruit Rand to join them. It’s sad what he loses in order to do so.  I think the storyline was interesting that centers around Rand and how his inventions are used to kill vampires.

I just felt the story jerked in places.  Its flow wasn’t as smooth as it could have been.  The author had the storyline jump from one thing to another in some places with out preparing the reader with enough information.  I would lose interest after a while.  It took me a long time to read this book a it just wouldn’t hold my interest for very long.  I also became annoyed as the author revealed emotions that could’ve been strong and explored, like grief and fear, but it wasn’t really taken anywhere.  Rand’s reactions to some of the things in the book didn’t match what the author was trying to convey.  I live vampire books just not this one. I give it a 2 out of 5.
