Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

In this Alpha’s Heart novel, Gracie is a bounty hunter and trying to earn herself a big case. She has been at her job for five years and finally her boss gives her a huge case. She is supposed to bring in a suspected murderer up for assault charges.

Raide is huge and peeks her interest immediately even before he becomes her case. Now she has to come up with a way to bring him in and get her feelings under control in the process. Of course he is proving to be difficult to ignore. She is walking a dangerous line between what is right and what is wrong. Her job is her world and she has worked hard to prove herself. Time spent with Raide calls her life into question. She now has to find the truth and make some tough decisions.

I liked this book. Gracie was a strong female character which I love. She is full of sass, my favorite kind. When she first meets Raide, she refuses to fall at his feet like other women. In doing so she presents a challenge, then work gets in the way.

Reading about her struggle between turning him in and falling for him was interesting. Her guilt plays a major part for both sides of the decision. She keeps going back and forth. I like how she trusts her gut and decides to help Raide by finding the truth.

However I was sad to see how Gracie was treated by her mother and her sisters. She would take it and then never tell her father. She would seem weak in these parts of the story. I didn’t care for that. I wanted her to be bad ass in all aspects of her life. She stood up to everyone else in her life except her family.

The ending was sweet and I truly liked how the story ended. I give it a 4 out of 5.
