ARC Review: Falling Under You (Fixed #4.5) by Laurelin Paige

Falling Under You by Laurelin Paige
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Falling Under You by Laurelin Paige is a quickie novella in the 1001 Dark Nights Tales that takes place in her Fixed Trilogy Series world.

We’ve met Norma in the Fixed world as CFA to the hero Hudson and we really got to see Norma and her assistant when Gina walked in on them having a bit of playtime in one of the books. So now we get to go behind the closed doors to see what their relationship is all about. So sit back, relax and enjoy this office romance as it blooms from start to HEA.

I really did enjoy this novella and as a fan of the series, I was always curious about the office duo. The story of Norma and her assistant is rather fascinating when you’ve read the original trilogy. They have a bit of a May/December romance with Norma being a bit older then Boyd and from the surface, she's dominant to him in the office but Norma and Boyd don’t share a typical BDSM relationship but more of a power exchange. In the office, Norma is in charge and Boyd is submissive to her. It is her kingdom and Boyd supports her anyway he can but outside of the office is Boyd’s domain and Norma is submissive. It’s a fascinating twist in a unique relationship that you don’t normally see in romance books and I for one really enjoyed it.

On a side note, I’m not sure if it can be read as a stand-alone, seeing that the timeline, characters and situations are all previously established and the novella doesn’t do a lot of explaining but I think you probably could follow along enough to fill in the blanks.

Overall it was a nice addition to the series.
