Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Teague destroyed the Godmother’s Guild and Mina is saddened. While she sits and mourns at the site. Teague comes to gloat and demand the thing he wants, the knife. When he disappears she becomes hunted by an Omen, a death reaper. She narrowly escapes with Brody’s help but someone she loves sacrifices themselves to save her. She is heartbroken and overwhelmed. Teague is threatening her friends and family. She can’t bear to see them hurt, so she gives Teague what he wants, the knife and her willingly.

The world of Fae is dying. The balance of power is off. Mina is saddened at what she sees. She tries to straighten the castle and bring joy back to the part of Fae that she can. Unfortunately an old enemy appears with her own plans. She wants Mina gone, but Mina promised to stay and plans on keeping that promise. However her plans don’t go as she would hope as a stranger takes her from the castle. With her promise broken she is in a race to save those that she loves.

I love this series. I’ve read every book and was along for Mina’s ride. In this final one, I felt bad for her. She was trying to do the right thing but she lost a lot by the end. There were a lot of surprises built in. Mina learns more about her mother and her brother. She meets her grandparents.

The author kept her friends along-side her as she fought to make things right. She isn’t afraid to ask for help but she also isn’t afraid to sacrifice in order to save those she loves. Mina is a great character. Unfortunately she has more than Teague coming after her. It isn’t known until further into the story.

I loved Mina and how she fought. She was smart using the information she had. Unfortunately she didn’t have all she needed. Lots of secrets were dropped throughout the story. It was a crazy ride but a great ending to her journey. I give it a 4 out of 5.
